Behind 1000flies is a dedicated team that puts their heart into offering you great fly-fishing products every day, getting your orders out reliably, and doing everything we can to make sure you’re happy with your purchase.
Whether in the warehouse, shipping, marketing, or product development—each of us plays a part in making sure that at 1000flies almost always 😉 everything runs smoothly. We may do different jobs, but we’re united by our passion for fly fishing and the joy of moving things forward together.
Even when things get busy, we keep our cool and tackle tasks with a good dose of calm. In the end, it’s not just efficiency that matters to us, but also enjoying our work and sticking together as a team.

Time to escape everyday life and finally hit the water!
At 1000flies, we understand your longing for those unique moments with beloved fish and nature:
Growing up on the wild, crystal-clear streams of South Tyrol, I’ve spent countless hours and days fishing for as long as I can remember—a time that left a lasting mark and helped shape my outlook on life.
The breathtaking landscapes, that feeling of standing in the water as if alone in the world, being able to slip away from everyday life for a moment, and the never-ending urge to coax a tiny secret from nature—all of that still fascinates me today.
When, in 2005, I swapped my spinning rod for my first fly rod and tricked my first trout, I was hooked: Fly fishing became my “way of life”.
From basement project to a team
In May 2008 I launched my online shop—more by chance (but that’s another story 😉)—back then in very modest surroundings, in a small basement room.
In 2010, my shop became our shop. Since then, my wife Petra and I have run the business together—her joining was a key milestone on our journey. Many customers know us personally from the numerous fly-fishing fairs (2009–2020) where we exhibited. Over that time, countless contacts and even friendships have formed.
Since 2021 we’ve deliberately (though with a heavy heart) stopped attending sales fairs because the logistics became too demanding for us. But who knows—maybe one day we’ll be back, even if “only” to reconnect with you in person.
Today, many years later, we work with a core team of seven employees, have around 700 m² of our own warehouse space with two modern packing stations, and can reliably ship thousands of orders a year.
We’re still a relatively small company, yet within the “fly fishing” niche we’ve become one of Europe’s larger providers—without corporate structures, but with personal commitment and passion.
Our product range
From the very beginning, we focused on artificial flies. Today our range includes over 3,000 fly patterns—many of them tested by us on the water.
Regular feedback from customers all over Europe, plus close collaboration with experienced fly tiers and competition anglers, continually flows into the development of our patterns. Worldwide, more than ten full-time fly tiers now tie for us—a network that guarantees not only variety but also consistently high quality.
Besides flies, you’ll find a wide range of fly-fishing gear and wading apparel. Our own brand HOTFLY has earned an excellent reputation across Europe, and we also carry renowned brands such as Guideline, Vision, JMC, Soldarini Fly Tackle, and many more.
What drives us
More than 30,000 satisfied customers across Europe since 2008 speak for themselves. Our promise remains the same as in the beginning: to offer premium flies and high-quality gear—affordable, reliable, and with heart.
Our lean structure, close cooperation with fly tiers, guides, and manufacturers, and our personal passion define us. All of this enables us to create a special shopping experience around fly fishing.
