Description

ULTIMATE FLY RODS FOR SALTWATER AND PREDATOR FISHING

A completely new approach to rod design, all-new materials and manufacturing technologies, and the now understood focus on the environment are the ingredients for Guideline's LPX COASTAL fly rod series. The different models of this rod series will also inspire you, because here you will find the perfect fly rods for hardcore fishing with streamers for trophy-sized fish, chasing for sea trout on the coast or the dream fishing trip to tropical destinations.

The completely redesigned rod blanks allow the production of longer fly rods with all their advantages, which nevertheless still feel and handle pleasantly like fly rods in the usual standard length. The high-performance materials used and optimised manufacturing processes with a sophisticated carbon layup result in lightweight fly rods that, despite their greater length, retain the necessary fast action to achieve perfect casts with tight line loops and long casting distances. The lighter blank also reduces wrist fatigue and the rod feels like a classic 9ft rod when casting. This means that you get the same, familiar characteristics as with conventionally long fly rods, but with a greater range, because in the line classes #5, #6 and #7 the LPX COASTAL fly rods measure 9'3", i.e. 283 cm. The additional length of 3"/7.5 cm ensures a greater distance between the water and the rod tip and thus also better line control when casting, especially when wading. At the same time, these fly rods can be cast just as well and effectively against the wind as normal 9' rods due to their fast action.

The fly rods of the heavier line classes #8, #10 and #12, then again, are kept 9' long in order to be able to play and land even strong fighting fish confidently, for which they are actually designed. This is because a longer lever would only put unnecessary strain on the wrist when casting heavy lines as well as when drilling big fish. These rods are ideal for fishing for the most sought-after saltwater fish in the world's tropical dream destinations. Especially when fishing from a boat, the extra reach of a longer rod is rarely really needed. The action of these rods is fast with an equally fast recovery. You will be surprised how light these fly rods feel even in the heavy line classes and how comfortable they are to fish. The progressive action not only makes these rods easier to cast, it also eliminates excessive force and all sorts of involuntary wrist twists when trying to squeeze "that last metre" out of your cast.

THE INDIVIDUAL MODELS

LPX COASTAL 9'3" #5 - #6: the ideal rod models for use on calm days on the open coast or in sheltered bays when you want to present small fly patterns such as shrimps and fish fry as delicately as possible so as not to scare away the roaming silver bars. With these fly rods you can achieve very high line speeds on the cast due to the fast action and you can cast tight loops. The sensitive and well-balanced rod tip, on the other hand, protects your fine leader from unwanted line breakage.

LPX COASTAL 9'3 #7 - 9' #8: these two fly rods are the all-rounders for fly fishing on the sea coasts of Europe. These rods are excellent for casting larger flies with ease, even in stronger winds, as well as handling classic lines and shooting heads - even sinking ones - well. The low swing weight of these rods and the fast, progressive action make casting and fishing on long days on the water a real pleasure.

LPX COASTAL 9ft #10 - #11 - #12: with the three heavier models in this fly rod series, you'll be perfectly equipped for big game fishing for halibut, pollock and tuna, as well as fly fishing in tropical destiantions for permit, jacks, tarpon and other hard-fighting fish that reside in warmer waters. These fly rods are surprisingly light, but have enough power reserves and a robust backbone to efficiently play and land even the strongest fighting trophy-sized fish. At the same time, the more flexible upper part of the rod gives you a comfortable casting experience.

GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY

No less than 3 years have been invested in the development of the LPX COASTAL to optimise new materials and innovative technologies. The aim was to find the best available solutions for excellent fly rod performance as well as the most sustainable option for every single component and part of the rod. The advanced carbon layup of these rods features C.A.P technology (Complex Axial Pattern) combined with a unidirectional carbon fibre structure for maximum strength and light weight. Unidirectional carbon fibres are not interwoven and all fibres run in a single, parallel direction to achieve maximum strength in the longitudinal direction. In a Complex Axial Pattern (CAP), the fibres of the prepreg mats are arranged at different angles to each other to enhance strength and stability in all directions. All these technical and material innovations results in fly rods with spectacular performance and strength at an incredibly low weight.
