CCS MOP CHENILLE

SPECIALISED CHENILLE FOR MOP FLIES WITH SECURELY BONDED FIBRES

Hotfly's CCS MOP CHENILLE was specifically developed for tying Mop Flies. These distinctive, simple fly patterns were originally made using the soft strands of microfibre cleaning cloths. The drawback of these materials is that, once cut, the fibres can work loose from the core, causing the fly body to fray over time.

CCS MOP CHENILLE solves this problem. Its densely packed fibres are permanently bonded to the central core, allowing you to cut the chenille to any desired length without the fibre structure coming apart. This gives you uniform, soft and bulky body sections that are ready to tie directly onto the hook.

FROM CLASSIC MOP FLIES TO WORM IMITATIONS AND EXTENDED BODIES

CCS MOP CHENILLE is particularly suitable for Mop Flies. Simply cut a piece to the required length and tie it onto the hook shank. The dense, soft fibre structure creates the characteristic bulky body, while the free-hanging section remains flexible and moves in the water.

The material is also versatile enough for other applications. Shorter sections can be used to imitate cases on cased caddis larva patterns, while longer pieces are suitable for worm flies and extended bodies. You can also use the chenille to create soft, bulky body sections on larger streamers.

The key advantage in all these applications is the permanent bond between the fibres and the central core. You can adjust the length of individual sections as required without having to seal the cut ends.

CUSTOM CHENILLE SYSTEM – CREATE YOUR OWN COLOURS

CCS MOP CHENILLE is part of Hotfly's Custom Chenille System (CCS). With the matching Fly Tying Marker Felt Pens, you can custom-colour the chenille permanently. This allows you to create numerous colour combinations for different fly patterns using just a few basic chenille variants.

The matching colour markers are available separately. Rather than buying the chenille in several ready-made colours, you can colour the material to suit your needs. This reduces the amount of material you need to keep in stock, saves money and gives you greater freedom when choosing the colours of your flies.
