The COCK CAPE PRO TYER from hotfly are so-called genetic hackles from special breeding lines, of American origin and in grade 1 quality. Every cape has a large number of evenly grown and rather long feathers of different sizes, which are rather slender in shape. The feathers have only a few fluffy fibres, are very flexible and can be wrapped wonderfully around the hook shank without breaking. The fibres of the feathers are very dense, rather stiff and are suitable for many applications and techniques in fly tying, also for parachutes and palmer. The COCK CAPES PRO TYER are gently dyed in Italy according to hotfly's specifications, giving them a lightfast, very natural colouring without sacrificing the flexibility and durability of the feathers. We offer these cock capes in the most popular colours, which you can use to tie a variety of different fly patterns. The black grizzly colouring looks very natural in combination with the more discreet basic colours, whereas very beautiful contrasts are created with the more striking colours. For the "white natural uv" colour variant, the natural colouring has been retained and the feathers have been given UV-active properties.

GENETIC HACKLES MINIPATCHES from hotfly are cut from whole capes and have around 40 to 50 feathers. They come from very own breeding lines from the USA, where the properties of the hackle feathers for fly tying have been further optimised through selection and crossing. These excellent hackles can be wrapped very smoothly around the hook shank due to their flexible, break-resistant and fine keels. The fibres however are stiff so that they stick out nicely. The advantage of a GENETIC HACKLES MINIPATCH is that you don't have to buy a complete cape with hundreds of feathers of a single colour. So, you are much more flexible at the tying table when it comes to the colour variations of your artificial flies, but you can still tie dozens of flies of a certain colour with one patch. In addition, the individual patches are cut and sorted in such a way that they mostly contain hackles of a certain size. So, you simply select the patches that correspond to your preferred fly size. However, since these are natural products, a certain scattering can occur. You can find the GENETIC HACKLES MINIPATCHES in the most common colours and in different size classes.

The feathers of the LADY AMHERST PHEASANT by hotfly are largely similar to those of the golden pheasant but are naturally white and black. The white areas of the feathers can be dyed very well and besides the bright colours, the blue-metallic shimmer of the hackle tips remains beautifully preserved. Just like the feathers of the golden pheasant, the feathers of the DIAMOND PHEASANT HEAD COMPLETE can be used in many classic and timeless fly patterns such as the legendary Royal Coachman, but also salmon flies, shrimp patterns and streamers. Whether it's a few fibres, small tufts or whole feathers, the high colour contrast of the dark tips and the rest of the feather makes this natural tying material suitable for a variety of applications on a wide range of fly patterns. Of course, you can also use the single-coloured parts of each feather very well for tails, bodies or thorax areas of dry flies and nymphs.
