After the extremely successful Nymphmaniac and Stillmaniac rod series, the RIVERMANIAC fly rods represents now the third series of fly rods that have been designed and conceived for a very specific range of applications and follow the Maniac philosophy. Here too, all of the rod's properties and features have been trimmed to maximise performance without compromise.
ONE SERIES, TWO DIFFERENT ROD ACTIONS
The consistency with which the developers at Vision followed the Maniac philosophy is also demonstrated by the fact that all fly rods in this series are available in two different actions. Each rod model is available with either a medium or fast action to cover every situation on the water. In addition to the different line classes and rod lengths, you also have the choice of rod action and can find the right rod for every application and casting technique. This is because fly rods with a medium action are primarily suitable for water-anchored casts such as roll casts or spey casts as well as gentle presentations at short and medium distances. The fast action of the rod provides excellent support when you have to regularly present your flies over longer distances to reach the fish. With a fast action, you can also achieve high line speeds and cast tight loops, which can be very helpful in windy conditions.
UNCOMPROMISING FEATURES THROUGHOUT
The rod blanks are made from high module 40T carbon fibre and are very light. While the medium-action rod models have a copper-coloured finish, the fast-action fly rods are kept in a distinctive bronze colour so that you can tell the two versions apart in terms of colour. The remaining features are shared by the fly rods of both versions. All models are 4-piece and the dot markings on the single rod parts allow the rods to be easily assembled in alignment. With the exception of the guide ring, these rods are fitted with modern single leg running guides. The entire handle section, from the shape of the cork handle to the material of the reel seat spacer and the possible fitting of a fighting butt, is optimally adapted to the respective line class of the rod. The RIVERMANIAC fly rods also have markings at 10 cm intervals on the handle and hand section to quickly determine the length of the fish caught.
All RIVERMANIAC fly rods are supplied in a protective Cordura rod tube.
