With the concept of building affordable yet powerful fly rods that are tailored to a very specific application, the rod developers at Vision have hit the nerve of the times. What was effectively missing was a specific model with which you could successfully pursue pike and other large predators.
This gap has been closed with the PIKE HERO, because with this solid and robust pike fly rod you too will become a hero on any predator water. They have a medium-fast action that allows you to cast large, bushy and wind-resistant flies at decent distances without your casting arm going limp too quickly. The PIKE HERO also offers you enough power reserves to stand up to even the biggest predators in the fight, to confidently parry explosive escapes and to quickly outwrestle even the big ones. These fly rods can be fished perfectly with all line types, from floating to intermediate and sinking, so that you have the right tool at hand for every body of water and every situation.
SOLID FEATURES
The 4-piece rod blank made from 30T carbon fibre is only lightly sanded, painted and finished in a timeless black. The current version of this rod only retains minimal details, such as the decorative wraps on the hand section and the rod labelling, from the bright yellow colour of the included rod tube. The rod overall is kept very discreet in terms of colour with a black reel seat and a black EVA full wells handle. This material has become particularly popular for powerful predator fly rods because it remains very grippy in every situation. The almost obligatory fighting butt on pike fly rods is also made of EVA. The very solid aluminium uplock reel seat is equipped with two non-slip screw nuts, with the first nut being larger and star-shaped, giving you maximum grip to screw your reel to the rod so that it is bombproof. The PIKE HERO is fitted with snake guides throughout.
