Shimano has developed the BIOCRAFT XR FLY STILLWATER fly rods for this type of fly fishing. The 3-piece fly rods are between 9'6" (290 cm) and 10' (305 cm) long. The slightly longer fly rods allow you to make long casts. So, you can reach the stand of the fish in Stillwater. The fly rods in this series vary from line class #6 to #8, so they can be optimally combined with fly lines of higher line classes that have been specially designed for long casts. Due to the strong backbone, even aggressively tapered fly lines can be handled without any problems. Yet the Froller cast is effortless with these fly rods.

The BIOCRAFT XR FLY STILLWATER fly rods are based on highly modulated full carbon rod blanks. They benefit enormously from the positive properties of Shimano's exclusive carbon fibre technologies. HPC, Nano Sheet and Diaflash ensure robust and very durable blanks. However, these fly rods are not stiff broomsticks. You feel the fast and progressive action right into the handpiece. This means that these fly rods can also be loaded very well with water-anchored casts such as the Froller. At the same time, the fly rods remain very light. This allows you to present your fly over long distances without tiring. In addition, the fly rods are so sensitive that you will feel every twitch and can quit it with a strike.

All BIOCRAFT XR FLY STILLWATER fly rods are equipped with a milled uplock aluminium reel seat. This is provided with generous cut-outs to save weight. The rod handle is made of Powercork. In addition, a fighting butt can be screwed in. This is not only very practical when playing larger and stronger fish. It is also pleasant to be able to rest the slightly longer fly rods on the forearm when retrieving the fly. The high-quality equipment is rounded off by single leg running guides and a guide ring with SIC insert. A practical hook keeper for attaching the nymphs has also been thought of.
