MODERN LARGE ARBOR FLY REELS
The XLV fly reels from Vision are high-quality large arbor models with a very reliable disc drag system. The large inner diameter of the spools reduces the annoying curling of the fly line, allowing you to make longer and more precise casts. A large arbour spool also ensures that you pick up more line per crank revolution when retrieving. This enables you to spool up loose line more quickly and make use of the reel drag when fighting the fish.
STYLISH AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN
The large overall diameter of these fly reels also allows them to be kept comparatively narrow while still offering you sufficient capacity in the specified line classes. The advantage of a reduced spool width lies in the more even laying of the fly line.
Thanks to the open reel frame, these fly reels remain nice and light despite their size. The V-design on the back of the reel ensures a sufficiently stable frame. The spools are generously milled out, except for a small area on the rear spool wall. This avoids unnecessary material and therefore weight. This airy design also allows the fly line and backing to dry quickly. The non-milled area on the spool replaces the classic counterweight and ensures that the spool runs absolutely smoothly on the reel axis.
EXCELLENT FEATURES
The powerful disc drag system runs silky smooth and offers you reliable performance across the entire braking force range. The reel drag can be adjusted very easily and precisely using a large, easy-to-grip drag knob. All moving parts are lubricated with SKF's water-repellent bearing grease.
The reel knob is made of EVA and offers a comfortable grip and remains non-slip even when wet.
The XLV fly reels are manufactured to a very high standard and are CNC-milled from a solid aluminium block. The surface is anodised and thus optimally protected against external influences. The XLV fly reel is available in various sizes, covering all freshwater fly-fishing applications up to line class #8. All models are available in slate green, and the two larger models are also available in black. On the #7/8 model in black, the simple V logo on the back of the reel has been replaced by the Vision V emblem. Replacement spools are available for all reel sizes.
