XLS FLY REELS
FIRST-CLASS REELS WITH POWERFUL, SEALED DRAG
The XLS fly reels from Vision are convincing across the board. The highlight of this reel series is certainly the specially developed reel drag, which is sealed with O-rings and SKF grease, making it completely waterproof and dustproof. Thanks to the sealing, the reel's drag system is optimally protected against external influences, meaning that this fly reel can also be used in salt water without any problems. The disc drag system runs silky smooth and can be adjusted very precisely thanks to the large, protruding, serrated and therefore easy to grip drag knob. The reel drag also has an impressive braking force and works very reliably over the entire adjustment range. The braking force range is optimally matched to the respective purpose of the individual reel models.
DESIGN AND FUNCTIONALITY
Designed as modern large arbor fly reels, the large inner diameter of the spools offers two advantages. One to one hand, the fly lines curl less, even if they are stored on the reel for long periods of time. This makes them easier to cast and therefore further and more precise. On the other hand, you retrieve more line per crank revolution with a large arbour reel. If a fish takes your fly, you can spool up the loose line more quickly and drill it directly via the reel using the reel brake.
The XLS fly reels are also aesthetically pleasing. The generously cut-outs and recesses keep these reels nice and light. In addition, the fly line and backing dry very quickly on the airy spools. The front of the spool remains visually clean by dispensing with a classic counterweight. It is compensated for by a non-milled area on the rear side of the spool wall, which ensures that the spool runs perfectly clean and round on the reel axis. The EVA reel knob offers you a comfortable grip and remains non-slip even when wet.
The individual models in this reel series are each available in distinct colours, which means they also match the respective Vision rod series very well visually. The two models XLS RIvermaniac and XLS Pikemaniac have an open reel frame, which helps to keep these reels nice and light, the other models are equipped with a closed reel frame, which makes these fly reels even more torsion-resistant and at the same time prevents thin running lines from accidentally getting between the spool and reel frame and thus blocking the reel.
The design of the back of the reel is based on the Vision “V“ logo. These flat structure increases the stability and rigidity of the reel frame so that these reels can handle any load with ease.
