European Nymphing is becoming more and more popular and is very much in vogue. A light and well-balanced fly tackle is crucial for a clean casting and a controlled drift of your nymphs, so that you don't get tired even after a long time on the water and remain concentrated at all times.
Sandro Soldarini has developed the ultra-light fly reel EXTRA CLICK UL especially for this purpose. As one of the lightest reels from Soldarini, it weighs just 69 grams but is anything but a featherweight in terms of reliability and functionality. The fly reel has a very modern appearance with many cut-outs, thus saving material and thus weight everywhere where it is not needed. The Super Large Arbor (SLA) design with the large spool core effectively prevents the memory effect and thus the annoying curling of the line. Especially when European nymphing you want to keep direct contact with your nymphs all the time and this only works with stretched lines.
In addition, the EXTRA CLICK UL fly reel has a reel cage that is closed in the lower area, which prevents the unintentional bouncing of the extra-long monofilament leaders or the ultra-thin fly lines, which are used as standard in European nymphing.
The full PVC clicker clutch of the EXTRA CLICK UL reliably prevents uncontrolled backlashes of the spool when pulling off the line and thus annoying line tangles. The clicker clutch is not a real drag in the conventional sense, but only slows the free rotation of the spool. When playing the fish, however, you can control the release of the line by gently breaking the spool with your finger or the ball of your hand. This allows you to manage the braking force very well and finely as well as adjust it variably. This system not only saves unnecessary weight, but also reliably protects the fine tippets that are commonly used with this fly-fishing technique. In addition, it makes the smooth pull-out of the line very easy and pleasant.
The capacity of this fly reel ranges from line class #0 to #4 and makes the EXTRA CLICK UL also suitable in combination with light stream rods for fine fishing for grayling and trout in addition to European nymphing.
Finished in an elegant black, the EXTRA CLICK UL fly reel is also aesthetically attractive and comes in a matching neoprene bag.
