RADIUS FLY REEL
IDEAL FOR THE EURONYMPH BUT NOT ONLY
The RADIUS fly reel from Loomis & Franklin has a very compact design and thanks to its enclosed reel frame allows you to use it very effectively in Euronymph fishing. This is because the 'cage' formed by this frame holds the mono line or the thin 0.55 mm fly line securely on the spool, thus preventing the line tangling around the reel axis and blocking the reel, which is most annoying when you play a fish.
Thanks to the also available #4/6 reel size, you can also use the RADIUS fly reel in dry fly fishing, classic nymph fishing or light streamer fishing.
The spool is quite deep, and although this may increase the memory effect of the mono line or fly line, it is also true that the capacity of the spool is significantly greater, allowing you to use more backing.
The drag, although it is not fully sealed, is of high quality and allows you to make very precise adjustments. In addition, thanks to the carbon discs, the release of the mono line or fly line is really smooth, minimising the possibility of breaking the tippet even when fighting a big and strong fish.
The adjustment knob of the drag is quite large and protruding, allowing you to handle it and adjust the drag tension very easily even in the most agitated moments of fishing.
Loomis & Franklin uses 6061-T6 grade aluminium for the production of the RADIUS fly reel, machining it out from the whole block with precision CNC machinery and anodising the reels’ surface. This results in a product with a really well-made and durable finish as well as a very rigid and robust frame structure.
The spool can be replaced quickly and easily, and it is also possible to convert the reel from right to left-handed retrieve.
