HALO EVO

THE REFINED EVOLUTION OF THE TRUSTED HALO FLY REELS

With the HALO EVO, Guideline presents the consistent evolution of one of its most proven fly reel series. Building on the successful HALO concept, the reel has been refined in key areas without losing its original character: robust, reliable, versatile and highly attractive in terms of value.

Machined from high-grade aluminium, equipped with a fully sealed drag system and a full-frame design, the HALO EVO is built for both freshwater and saltwater use. It has proven itself over many years under real fishing conditions – from Scandinavian rivers to tropical flats.

REFINED DESIGN & HIGH VERSATILITY

The HALO EVO features a narrower, more modern spool width combined with a slightly deeper spool design. This allows it to accommodate a wide variety of fly lines, shooting heads and backing combinations with ease.

With just three reel sizes, the HALO EVO covers an exceptionally wide range of rod and line classes. This significantly simplifies reel selection without compromising versatility or performance. Corrosion-resistant components ensure long-term durability, even with regular use in saltwater.

ROBUST CONSTRUCTION & SMOOTH OPERATION

Within its price range, the HALO EVO sets a benchmark for material quality and manufacturing. This large-arbor fly reel is CNC-machined from high-strength aluminium and offers excellent rigidity and structural stability.

The full-frame design reliably prevents thin running or shooting lines from slipping between spool and frame – a key advantage when fishing modern shooting head systems. At the same time, the large-arbor design ensures fast line retrieval and helps reduce fly line memory.

SEALED DRAG – TAILORED TO THE APPLICATION

At the heart of the HALO EVO is a proven, fully sealed carbon and stainless steel disc drag system. It delivers smooth, consistent braking performance with minimal maintenance requirements – even under demanding conditions and frequent use.

Drag performance is carefully matched to each model’s intended use: the #46 Trout version provides finely adjustable drag power of up to 1.5 kg, while the #79 and #911 models deliver a powerful 4.0 kg of drag, offering confident control over large and hard-fighting fish.

MODELS & RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS

HALO EVO #46
The ideal reel for single-hand rods in line classes #4 to #6. Highly versatile for trout-focused fishing on streams, rivers and lakes. Provides ample capacity for a WF #5 line plus approx. 100 m of 20 lbs backing – perfect when one reel is expected to cover multiple rod classes.
HALO EVO #79
Designed for powerful single-hand and switch rods in line classes #7 to #9. Suitable for a WF #8 line with 100 m of 20 lbs backing, or for shooting head systems (7/8) with Compline and backing. An excellent choice for coastal fishing, pike in #8/9 and tropical applications with #7/8 setups.
HALO EVO #911
The large model for double-hand rods in classes #8/9 to #10/11, offering generous capacity for shooting line and up to 230 m of 30 lbs backing. Also the go-to choice for demanding tropical fishing targeting tarpon or GT with single-hand rods and WF #11–12 lines.

WELL THOUGHT OUT & FUNCTIONAL

All HALO EVO reels are supplied as standard with left-hand retrieve, but can be quickly and easily converted to right-hand retrieve without tools. The ergonomically shaped drag knobs provide secure grip and precise adjustment, even with wet hands or in cold conditions.

Visually, the HALO EVO remains true to the classic HALO look: the stealth black finish combined with subtle chrome accents creates a clean, modern and timeless appearance. The distinctive engraved circles on spool and frame – the signature “Halo” effect – further underline the reel’s premium feel.
