CCS SUEDE CHENILLE

VELVETY CHENILLE FOR EVENLY SHAPED, FULL-BODIED FLIES

Hotfly's CCS SUEDE CHENILLE features a compact, dense construction with a consistently round cross-section. Its distinctive character comes from the manufacturing process: rather than being twisted into the core as with conventional chenilles, the fine fibres are closely bonded to the core. This creates an exceptionally even, soft, velvety surface with a suede-like feel.

Unlike chenilles with longer, protruding fibres, CCS SUEDE CHENILLE produces a compact, evenly textured body when wrapped around the hook shank. The dense fibre arrangement creates a soft surface and allows you to build up volume efficiently with just a few wraps.

IDEAL FOR NYMPH BODIES, THORAXES AND STREAMERS

CCS SUEDE CHENILLE is particularly suitable for bodies and thoraxes of medium-sized to larger nymphs. Closely spaced wraps create evenly shaped bodies with a fine, velvety texture. It is especially useful when building up a fuller thorax, allowing you to achieve additional volume and a well-proportioned body shape.

The chenille is also versatile when tying small streamers. You can use it to create compact bodies or build up an even, bulky underbody before adding other tying materials. Its round cross-section makes it easier to achieve a neat, consistent body profile.

CUSTOM CHENILLE SYSTEM – CREATE YOUR OWN COLOURS

CCS SUEDE CHENILLE is part of Hotfly's Custom Chenille System (CCS). With the matching Fly Tying Marker Felt Pens, you can custom-colour the chenille permanently. This allows you to create numerous colour combinations for different fly patterns using just a few basic chenille variants.

The matching colour markers are available separately. Rather than buying the chenille in several ready-made colours, you can colour the material to suit your needs. This reduces the amount of material you need to keep in stock, saves money and gives you greater freedom when choosing the colours of your flies.
