The bobbin holder SOFT GRIP CERAMIC from Hotfly is a classically shaped bobbin holder with two legs and generously dimensioned ceramic bords on both sides of the thread tube. Thanks to this extremely resistant material, the critical areas are optimally protected from wear by the running tying thread. This is because modern super-thin fly-tying threads made of high-performance fibres put a lot of strain on the thread tube and can lead to bumps with sharp edges. The fly-tying thread can be roughened or even cut at these notches when you wind the tying thread under tension. Thanks to its excellent hardness, ceramic retains a wonderfully smooth surface even after long use.

The soft plastic coating is also very pleasant, allowing a good and comfortable grip. This makes a lot of sense, especially with the bobbin holder, as this fly-tying tool is certainly the one you hold in your hand the most. Thanks to the good grip, the bobbin holder can also be turned around its own axis when you want to twist the fly-tying thread.

The SOFT GRIP CERAMIC bobbin hoder easily holds all standard width bobbins of tying thread. The cone-shaped holding points keep the bobbins centred and secure. You can vary the resistance to pulling off the tying thread by bending the bobbins legs slightly outwards or inwards.
