LITECRAFT FLYMASTER FLY ROD BLANK

A VERSATILE FOUNDATION FOR YOUR CUSTOM FLY ROD

With the LITECRAFT FLYMASTER FLY ROD BLANK from Hotfly, you can build a versatile fly rod for fishing with dry flies, traditional nymphs and streamers. Its well-balanced combination of control, sensitivity and power suits a variety of casting distances and techniques.

MEDIUM-FAST, PROGRESSIVE ACTION

Under light load, most of the flex is concentrated in the upper section of the blank, supporting sensitive line control and precise presentations. As more power is applied, the blank progressively engages further down. This allows it to load smoothly and generate the power required for longer casts, bulkier flies and fighting strong fish.

Its balanced recovery promotes a smooth casting rhythm and controlled loops. The blank remains responsive at short and medium range while providing the stability and power reserves required for longer casts.

FOR DRY FLIES, NYMPHS AND STREAMERS

When fishing dry flies, the responsive upper section supports accurate presentations. For traditional nymph fishing, the smooth flex profile makes it easier to control the rig and maintain good contact. When fishing streamers, the blank provides enough power to accelerate slightly heavier or bulkier patterns efficiently. During the fight, its progressive action distributes the load increasingly along the blank, helping you maintain control over stronger fish.

FOUR-PIECE DESIGN WITH SPIGOT FERRULES

The blank consists of four sections joined by spigot ferrules. This design promotes an even transfer of power between the individual sections and contributes to a smooth, consistent flex profile. The four-piece construction also gives the completed fly rod a compact transport length.

BUILD YOUR FLY ROD TO SUIT YOUR PREFERENCES

Available separately, the blank allows you to customise both the performance and appearance of your fly rod. You can choose the design of the grip and reel seat, the type and placement of the guides, the thread colours and decorative details. These choices influence the finished rod’s weight, balance and dynamic response. The four-piece blank is supplied without rod-building components.
