Fly fishing for pike and other large predatory fish has become increasingly popular, especially in recent years. Bushy and wind-catching streamers are used for this purpose, which have to be cast accordingly far with special fly lines featuring heavy bellies. The HYDROPSYCHE PIKE was developed precisely for this application. Designed for line class #10, you can cast large streamers even on heavy sink fly lines with ease. With a universal length of 9 feet (274 cm), this predatory fish fly rod can be used from the shore, when wading or from a boat or belly boat. The use of CX Full Carbon allowed the development of a thin and light blank, as we are accustomed to from Sandro Soldarini fly rods. Nevertheless, it has plenty of power reserves, so that even large and pike and other strong predatory fish can be played with confidence.
The other materials and components of the HYDROPSYCHE PIKE have also been selected with the same high quality in order to offer you an absolutely reliable and powerful fly rod for fly fishing for large predatory fish. Both the guide rings and the snake guides are quality products from Sea-Guide. The Full Wells rod handle is made of the best Flor Grade cork and has a protective finish of rubberised cork at both ends. The uplock reel seat is made of milled 6061 aluminium, anodised black and fitted with a carbon fibre insert. The fighting butt made of EVA foam allows you to support the fly rod during the fight and exert a higher pressure on the fighting fish via the leverage effect.
The HYDROPSYCHE PIKE fly rod also has a 1-metre mark on the blank which allows you to quickly and easily assess whether the pike you have caught has reached or already passed the magic size of one metre. The 4-piece fly rod is supplied in a black Cordura rod tube with practical inner compartments and length-adjustable carrying strap.
