BRASS WIRE by hotfly is a brush strand consisting of a very thin, synthetic core to which 6 mm long, artificial fibres are attached that have a metallic shine. The fibres stand out nicely when the material is wrapped around the hook. At the same time, the fine and thin fibres are soft enough to imitate wriggling feet, antennae, tufts or other appendages. BRASS WIRE is ideal for the quick and easy production of whole bodies, thorax areas or hotspots on nymphs, streamers but also on dry-fished insect imitations. Due to the thin core, this fly-tying material is not bulky when wrapped on the hook. The shimmering colours and the shiny surface of the fibres reflect the incident light in all directions and make your artificial fly very eye-catching, so that the material is primarily suitable for attracting patterns. BRASS WIRE is supplied on 10m spools and is available in solid gold and silver as well as tried and tested colour combinations.
This series of fly tying materials is mainly used to tie streamers, although in smaller sizes it can also be used to tie large nymphs. Excluding chenille, which has very sober colors, the rest of the fly tying material is very bright and once it comes into contact with sunlight it creates many flashes that are able to attract the fish even from far away.
