BRASS WIRE by Hotfly is a brush strand consisting of a synthetic core to which 6 mm long artificial fibres are attached that have a metallic shine. The very fine and thin fibres stand out nicely when you wrap the brush onto the hook. At the same time, they are soft enough to move briskly in the current or when retrieving the artificial fly, imitating wriggling feet, antennae, tufts or other appendages.
With BRASS WIRE you save yourself the fussy snipping around and fiddling with tinsel or flash fibres to then tie it into your fly patterns with a dubbing loop. This fly-tying material is ideal for quick and easy tying of whole bodies, thorax areas or hot spots for nymphs and smaller streamer patterns, but also for dry-fished insect imitations, as the material does not absorb water. Due to the thin core, this tying material is not too bulky, so you can also proportion smaller fly patterns very well.
The shimmering colours and the shiny surface of the fibres reflect the incident light in all directions and make your artificial fly very eye-catching, so that the material is primarily suitable for attractor patterns.
BRASS WIRE comes in 10m spools and is available in solid gold and silver as well as in tried and tested colour combinations.
