A RELIABLE AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE WADING JACKET
The Laxa wading jacket series, known by many fly fishermen for its excellent price-performance ratio, makes a significant leap forward in the revised version LAXA 2.0. Completely redesigned and with numerous improvements, especially in the details, the LAXA 2.0 presents itself as a very technical and professional wading jacket, but at a decidedly affordable price.
WATERPROOF AND BREATHABLE
The LAXA 2.0 wading jacket is made of 3 layers of Taslan nylon, which offer a waterproofness of 10,000 mm (water column) and thus keep you dry even in pouring rain. Taslan nylon is a special fabric that combines abrasion resistance and lightness. The jacket weighs only 680 g in men's size L. In addition, the Taslan nylon used by Guideline is completely free of fluorocarbon thus environmentally friendly.
The LAXA 2.0 wading jacket from Guideline is also equipped with completely water-repellent YKK AquaGuard® zips, which, in combination with the special fabric already mentioned, guarantee the high level of waterproofness.
Especially the head area is problematic for water to penetrate when fly fishing in the rain. For this reason, an adjustable, close-fitting hood was developed, which adapts very well to the shape of the head. It protects you optimally from wind and weather. Moreover, it follows all your movements and closes very well, so that the rainwater stays outside.
In the LAXA 2.0 wading jacket, solutions have been developed for all the closures, especially at the wrists and waist, which effectively prevent water from penetrating these areas. After all, it is not uncommon to have to wade deep or dip your forearms into the water. For this reason, the cuffs of the LAXA 2.0 have been sewn with the adjustable DuoDrag™ closure, which ensures that the jacket fits perfectly and no water can penetrate. Like the cuffs, the lower bottom of the jacket is adjustable around the waist.
To stay dry, a jacket must not only be waterproof, but also breathable. The breathability of the LAXA 2.0 wading jacket is 5,000 g/m2/24h, which means it doesn't let water in and moisture can escape. This way, you stay dry even when you sweat. Of course, the greater the temperature difference between the outside temperature and your body temperature, the greater the likelihood that condensation will form inside the jacket. However, this phenomenon is perfectly natural and occurs with all waterproof garments, even the most breathable ones.
ACCESSORIES AND COMFORT
The LAXA 2.0 wading jacket from the Scandinavian company Guideline is equipped with many pockets and accessories in the chest area. All pockets are placed very high, so you can easily wade in deep water without risking your gear getting wet.
In detail, you will find on this wading jacket:
- 2 large pockets with water-repellent zips, in which you can also safely store large fly boxes.
- 2 elasticated mesh pockets, ideal for storing leader spools.
- 2 additional flat pockets under the elastic mesh.
- 2 hand warmer pockets.
- 1 retractor with carabiner, ideal for hanging the line clipper.
Speaking of accessories, there is 1 D-ring under the hood on the back where you can attach the magnet for the wading net.
