TRICK CASTER TENKARA TAPER LINE

FINEST PRESENTATION — JAPANESE STYLE

With the TRICK CASTER TENKARA TAPER LINE, River Peak introduces a Tenkara line designed above all for one thing: maximum control in presentation. Developed in cooperation with the Japanese line specialist Yano Silk Line, it is tailor‑made for demanding situations at the water — when it really matters to hold the fly exactly where the fish lies.

WHAT MAKES THE TRICK CASTER SPECIAL

Unlike conventional level lines, the TRICK CASTER TENKARA TAPER LINE is built tapering — thicker at the rear end, thinner at the front. Depending on the model, it consists of 8 to 10 ultra‑fine fluorocarbon strands braided together. That allows the line to roll off smoothly in the cast — even when you fish with larger, bushier fly patterns. In this way, you can not only cast more precisely — especially in tight quarters — but also steer your drifting fly more effectively and actively guide it. This technique has its roots in Japan and is known there as “Kojiro Tenkara”. Named after its creator Kojiro Yama, it enables especially active bait control — ideal for alerting inactive fish to your fly and enticing them to strike.

EASY TO HANDLE

Both ends of the line are fitted with practical loops: a larger, color‑coded loop at the thicker end for attachment to your Tenkara rod’s Lillian (e.g. via a girth hitch), and a small, unobtrusive loop at the thin end to connect to the tippet.

AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE LENGTHS — FITS YOUR ROD

So that you always have the right length for your Tenkara setup, the TRICK CASTER TENKARA TAPER LINE is offered in four versions:

3.5 m — for rods up to approx. 2.4 m
4.5 m — for rods up to approx. 3.3 m
5.5 m — for rods between 3.3 m and 4.0 m
6.5 m — for rods from approx. 4.0 m upward

This way, you can fine‑tune the line to your waters, your Tenkara rod, and your technique — whether you fish on a narrow mountain stream or a broad river.

WHY IT STANDS OUT

Crafted from premium fluorocarbon braid, the TRICK CASTER TENKARA TAPER LINE not only delivers outstanding casting performance but also offers high abrasion resistance and long durability. Its delicate structure sits well in the air, allows precise control, and ensures minimal disturbance upon landing — perfect for wary trout in clear water.
