TURNING YOUR VIVARELLI INTO A PERFECT EURONYMPH FLY REEL
With the LARGE ARBOR REINFORCED, the Spanish company Luckybur presents a very smart spool with which you can retrofit your semi-automatic Vivarelli fly reel and optimise it for Euronymphing. This is because it has numerous features that make it even more suitable for fly fishing with monofilament lines and the special, ultra-thin and lightweight Euronymph fly lines than the original. The large spool arbor with a diameter of 60 mm effectively prevents the annoying memory effect of the line. Especially when Euronymphing, a curling line can prove to be extremely bothersome both when casting and when controlling the drift of your nymphs. The line capacity is naturally reduced as a result, but the LARGE ARBOR REINFORCED still holds plenty of monofilament line and also offers enough space for a special 0.55 mm Euronymph fly line.
PERFECT FOR EURONYMPHING
Compared to the original Vivarelli spool, the lightweight construction has saved around 20% in weight. Thanks to the positioning of the material in the outer area, this spool has sufficient fly mass despite its lower weight to function optimally with the semi-automatic mechanism of the Vivarelli fly reel. Thanks to the extremely impact-resistant material and the narrow spoke design, this spool has increased durability, as the name REINFORCED already suggests. Nevertheless, there is sufficient ventilation so that wet fly lines dry reliably even when they remain stored on the spool.
There is a small recess at the rear edge of the spool, which is not a production fault but, like on the original spool, ensures that you do not pinch the line on the closed reel frame when changing the spool and, in the worst case, kink or damage it.
To insert or remove the spool from the reel frame, simply press the small locking lever on the side of the central spool cover.
In contrast to the original spool, the LARGE ARBOR REINFORCED has a rotating reel knob. This offers you the advantage of not having to retrieve the line by hand, especially when fighting larger fish, but instead using the reel as usual so that you can also use the reel brake at any time. This way the risk of unintentional line breakage is significantly minimised, which is a great advantage when Euronymphing where you normally use thin tippets. The counterweight is equipped with two silicone rings between which you can easily and securely clip the tippet when moving from one spot to the next.
The LARGE ARBOR REINFORCED is also equipped with an adjustable reel drag. To adjust this to suit your needs and your leader tips, a flat-head screwdriver (not included) is required, which you insert into the hole on the top of the centre spool cover. Tighten the reel drag by turning it clockwise and loosen it by turning it anti-clockwise.
