GREAT SPOOL FOR RETROFITTING YOUR VIVARELLI FLY REEL

The semi-automatic fly reels from Vivarelli are very popular with Euronymph fly fishermen due to their pleasant and uncomplicated handling. To make these fly reels even more suitable for use with fine and thin lines, the Spanish company Luckybur has developed the LARGE ARBOR SPOOL COMPETITION. It fits perfectly on the frame of your Vivarelli fly reel (not included) and is just as easy to operate with the semi-automatic mechanism. In addition, this reel offers you some decisive advantages, especially for Euronymphing. This is because the large spool diameter significantly reduces the annoying memory effect. The line capacity of this spool is designed to accommodate not only monofilament lines or ultra-thin Euronymph fly lines with a diameter of 0.55 mm, but also classic fly lines up to line class #3. This means you can use your Vivarelli equipped with a COMPETITION spool not only for modern Euronymphing, but also for fine classic fly fishing.

MULTIPLE ADVANTAGES OVER THE ORIGINAL

Compared to the original spool, the weight of the COMPETITION has been significantly reduced so that this extremely light spool weighs only 32 grams. Don't worry, the material used makes the spool extremely shock-resistant. In addition, the many holes ensure optimum ventilation so that wet lines and backing dry very quickly and reliably, even when spooled.

The COMPETITION also has a classic reel handle. This is particularly advantageous when fighting larger fish, as you can reel in the line in the usual way rather than by hand and thus also make use of the reel drag. This also minimises unwanted line breakage of fine tippets and you lose fewer fish.

Two silicone rings are attached to the counterweight, between which you can clip your leader tip when moving from one spot to the next. Both the counterweight and reel handle are removable if you prefer to fish in the original Vivarelli configuration.

The spool can be easily attached and removed by pressing the small lever on the side of the central spool cover. The reel drag can be adjusted with a flat-head screwdriver (not included) by inserting it through the hole at the top of the spool cover and turning it clockwise to tighten the drag or anti-clockwise to loosen it.
