HOTFLY LADY AMHERST PHEASANT HEAD

VERSATILE DECORATIVE FEATHERS FOR CLASSIC FLIES AND STREAMERS

The HOTFLY LADY AMHERST PHEASANT HEAD provides a versatile selection of beautifully marked feathers for fly tying. The feathers of the Lady Amherst pheasant are similar to those of the golden pheasant but feature distinctive natural black-and-white markings and feather tips with a metallic blue sheen. This combination makes them particularly attractive for fly patterns that benefit from contrasting feather markings and subtle visual accents.

The white sections of the feathers take dye exceptionally well, while the metallic sheen of the dark tips remains visible after dyeing. This creates striking colour combinations in which the characteristic feather markings stand out clearly against the chosen base colour.

FOR SALMON FLIES, STREAMERS AND CLASSIC DRY FLIES

The feathers of the HOTFLY LADY AMHERST PHEASANT HEAD can be used for a wide variety of fly patterns. Their contrasting colours and distinctive markings are particularly effective on classic salmon flies, shrimp patterns and streamers. Suitable feather sections can also be incorporated into traditional dry flies such as the Royal Coachman.

Depending on the pattern, you can tie in individual feather fibres, small bunches or entire feathers. The clearly defined dark tips are ideal for creating distinctive hackles, decorative collars or contrasting accents on wings and other parts of the fly.

The solid-coloured sections of the feathers are equally useful. Individual fibres can be used for tails, bodies or thoraxes on dry flies and nymphs. This allows you to make the most of different sections of the same feather for a variety of tying techniques and fly patterns.

VARIOUS COLOURS WITH UV AND FLUORESCENT EFFECTS

Hotfly offers these Lady Amherst pheasant feathers in a range of colours, including some particularly vibrant shades. Certain variants feature UV-active properties or fluorescent effects, allowing you to add further visual accents to your flies. The characteristic dark feather tips create an attractive contrast with the dyed sections.

The complete Lady Amherst pheasant head, including the head and collar feathers, is supplied. This gives you a selection of feathers in different shapes and sizes, suitable for both traditional fly patterns and your own creations.
