GUIDELINE POWER STRIKE PRO SEA TROUT LEADER

The Guideline POWER STRIKE PRO SEA TROUT is a purpose-built sea trout leader, designed to match the line weights and demands typically encountered when fishing for sea trout in rivers and along the coast. With a total length of 365 cm (12 ft) and a powerful yet balanced taper, it offers an ideal combination of casting stability, control, and presentation.

The leader is engineered to transfer energy efficiently all the way to the fly, allowing streamers to turn over cleanly in windy conditions – a clear advantage when fishing coastal areas or larger river systems.

SEA TROUT FISHING IN RIVERS & ALONG THE COAST

POWER STRIKE PRO SEA TROUT leaders are true all-rounders for sea trout fishing. They perform equally well in rivers and coastal environments and are perfectly matched to the commonly used #6 to #8 line weights.

The subtle smoke-grey colour ensures low visibility in the water. Thanks to the pre-formed loop, the leader can be attached directly to the fly line and is ready to fish straight away.

STABLE TAPER FOR WIND & LARGER FLIES

The taper of the POWER STRIKE PRO SEA TROUT is the result of years of hands-on experience and has been fine-tuned for windy conditions and larger, air-resistant flies.

The powerful butt section ensures efficient energy transfer, while the relatively long tip section allows the fly to be tied directly to the leader without adding tippet. On calm days or when targeting particularly wary fish, an additional tippet can easily be added.

BALANCED TAPER PROFILE

Butt: 40% (145 cm)
Taper: 25% (90 cm)
Tip: 35% (130 cm)

The 0.57 mm butt diameter is ideally suited to the line weights typically used for sea trout fishing and provides stable, controlled turnover. The shorter, more aggressive transition leads into a perfectly proportioned tip section, offering the ideal balance between control and presentation.

PREMIUM MATERIALS & MODERN COATING

POWER STRIKE PRO leaders are made from high-quality Japanese nylon, produced to Guideline’s exact specifications. The material density is carefully selected to suit sea trout fishing applications.

A modern hydrophobic coating reduces water absorption, increases durability, and ensures long-lasting suppleness – even in cold temperatures and frequent saltwater use.

PRACTICAL PACKAGING & READY TO USE

The leaders are supplied pre-looped in a convenient 2-pack. The robust packaging features a zip closure, is UV-resistant, and ideal for safe transport and storage.
