The fly rods of the REFLEX R2 series from JMC are the result of a fundamental revision of the previous very popular Reflex rod series. The biggest innovation concerns the material for the rod blank, which now consists of the latest generation of high modulus carbon fibre fabric called 40T-R2. The result is a light, progressive blank in elegant dark blue with a medium-fast action that also suits beginners and less experienced casters, as it is forgiving of small casting errors and not one hundred percent exact timing. This also allows a certain versatility in the use of this fly rods.
In the development of this rod series, however, attention was not only paid to the blank and its action, but also to the components, which are absolutely high-quality for a rod series in this price range. The half-wells rod handle is made of AAA-grade cork with rubberised protective edges, and with the exception of the SIC guide ring, all running guides are titanium-made and single legged. The reel seat is made of aluminium with a carbon insert.
Within the REFLEX R2 fly rod series you can choose between 8 different models, each of which has characteristics tailored to a specific fishing method or type of water:
7'6'' (228 cm) for line class #3/4 - 3-piece: ideal for small and overgrown creeks
8'6'' (258 cm) for line class #4/5 - 4-piece: excellent for fine fly fishing with dry flies and nymphs on medium-sized running waters
9' (274 cm) for line class #4/5 - 4- and 6-piece: all-round fly rod with which you can cover a great many methods from the finer fishing with dry flies and small to medium nymphs as well as small and light streamers and, due to its universal length, also different water sizes. The travel-friendly 6-piece split version of this model will fit in any suitcase or travel bag
9' (274 cm) for line class #5/6 - 4-piece: all-round fly rod with which you can cover a wide range of methods from dry flies to nymphs and streamers and, due to its universal length, also different water sizes
10' (305 cm) for line class #4/5 - 4-piece: perfect for fine and precise fly fishing on larger waters
10' (305 cm) for line class #2/3 - 4-piece: designed especially for European Nymphing
11' (335 cm) for line class #3/4 - 4-piece: developed especially for European Nymphing and the only model of this rod series with fighting butt, which makes a lot of sense with this rod length due to the balance and leverage effect
All fly rods in the REFLEX R2 series are supplied in a handy Cordura rod tube with internal compartments.
