SINGLE HAND SCANDI FLY LINE

VERSATILITY AND PRECISION FOR SINGLE-HANDED SPEYCASTING

When they hear the word ‘Scandi’, many fly fishers instinctively think of salmon fishing with long two-handed rods and special shooting heads. This type of fly fishing does indeed offer a number of advantages, as you can cast consistently over long distances with minimal effort, even when there is limited space for casting behind you.

With the SINGLE HAND SCANDI, Guideline now offers you a special fly line that allows you to optimally utilise these advantages when fly fishing with a single-handed rod. And the best thing about it is that you can get started right away with this full fly line. No complicated selection of the appropriate shot head weights, no separate running line. Simply choose the line class that matches your fly rod and you're ready to go with Spey casting using your favourite single-handed rod.

OPTIMISED TAPER DESIGN FOR VERSATILE CASTING TECHNIQUES

The SINGLE HAND SCANDI fly line was developed especially for fly fishers who are looking for an all-round line that can be used to perform roll, Spey and classic overhead casts with the utmost precision, while also placing a high value on effortless handling. The length of the line's head is optimally matched to each line class, and the taper of the head is strongly reminiscent of the legendary Triangle taper. However, the back taper has been graduated for even more control when casting and the transition between the head and the running line has been equipped with a so-called handling line. This tapers conically and ensures that the line remains stable in the air even during classic overhead casts. In addition, the handling line allows you to vary the length of line held in the air without sacrificing casting performance.

The unique continuous front taper with the fine tip allows you to make delicate presentations, even in the higher line classes. The extended front taper also ensures that the majority of the line weight is located at the rear of the head. This allows you to immediately load your fly rod with a simple D loop, giving you the perfect starting point for easy and clean water-anchored casts such as roll and spey casts.

THE RIGHT LINE CLASS FOR DIFFERENT FLIES AND CONDITIONS

Whether you are fishing with dry flies, nymphs or streamers, the SINGLE HAND SCANDI fly line is up to any challenge. The lighter models are ideal for delicate and precise presentation of dry flies, while the heavier versions have enough power to cast larger salmon flies with confidence. This versatility makes it the perfect all-round line for a wide range of fishing situations.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MATERIALS

Guideline places a high value on sustainability. That's why SINGLE HAND SCANDI, like the rest of Guideline's new fly lines, is 100% free of phthalates and comes on a biodegradable PLA spool in recycled packaging.
