HOTFLY EZ PINS FLY TYING PINS

ATTACH BEADS AND WEIGHTS ANYWHERE ON YOUR FLY HOOK

The HOTFLY EZ PINS allow you to attach beads, eyes and weights made from tungsten, brass or glass to your fly patterns, even when they cannot be slid directly over the hook point. All you need is a suitable hole through which the pin can pass.

Using them is simple: slide the bead onto the pin, where the flat head acts as a stop. Thanks to the relatively soft, easily bendable wire, you can then bend the EZ PIN into the desired position and tie the remaining section securely onto the hook shank. If needed, a drop of superglue will prevent the bead from rotating on the pin.

OFFSET WEIGHTING FOR NYMPHS AND STREAMERS

One particularly useful feature is the ability to position weights above, below or to the side of the hook shank. This allows you to adjust the centre of gravity of your flies and, for example, tie jig-style nymphs on conventional hooks. On streamers, offset eyes or weights can also help you fine-tune the balance and swimming action of your patterns.

The HOTFLY EZ PINS measure 30 mm in length and 0.6 mm in diameter. Each pack contains 10 pins, available in gold or silver.
