Hotfly's D-RIB MINI is a thin synthetic cord that is wrapped around the shank of the hook to tie the bodies of your artificial flies. This fly tying material with its 0.9mm diameter has a medium size and you can use it to tie medium/large nymphs or small streamers. The final appearance is very realistic and captivating because it can simulate the abdominal segments of a real nymph quite honestly.
In our online fly-fishing shop, in addition to the 0.9mm MINI size you can also find the 0.7mm MICRO size and the 1.2mm STANDARD size.
Unlike other fly tying materials, the D-RIB MINI is very easy to use. Fix it with the tying thread taking care to leave some free space before the tungsten bead in order to tie the thorax. Spread it on the shank always helping with the tying thread until you get close to the bend of the hook. Then simply wrap it in tight coils until the body of the artificial fly is formed. Fix the final part with the tying thread and cut the excess with scissors.
