CCS GHOST CLEAR CHENILLE

TRANSPARENT CHENILLE FOR AIRY, BULKY STREAMERS

Hotfly's CCS GHOST CLEAR CHENILLE features relatively long, transparent fibres and a lightweight, flat construction. Unlike densely structured chenilles, it creates an open, translucent fibre structure when tied in, adding volume to your flies without completely concealing the underlying body.

The transparent fibres allow light to pass through, creating a subtle, semi-transparent silhouette. Underlying colours and tying materials remain partially visible, allowing you to achieve different colour effects without sacrificing a full-bodied profile.

MORE VOLUME WITHOUT AN OVERLY DENSE FLY BODY

CCS GHOST CLEAR CHENILLE is particularly suitable for streamers with bulky yet loosely structured bodies. When wrapping it around the hook shank, sweep the longer fibres backwards after each turn to prevent them from becoming trapped beneath subsequent wraps. This produces an even, open fibre structure.

In the water, the fine fibres can move gently, giving the streamer a lively, translucent silhouette. This material is especially useful for baitfish imitations where you want to combine a full-bodied profile with an airy construction. The transparent fibres also allow different underbody colours to show through effectively.

CUSTOM CHENILLE SYSTEM – CREATE YOUR OWN COLOURS

CCS GHOST CLEAR CHENILLE is part of Hotfly's Custom Chenille System (CCS). With the matching Fly Tying Marker Felt Pens, you can custom-colour the chenille permanently. The transparent fibre structure provides an interesting base for creating your own shades and subtle colour gradients.

The matching colour markers are available separately. Rather than buying the chenille in several ready-made colours, you can colour the material to suit your needs. This reduces the amount of material you need to keep in stock, saves money and gives you greater freedom when choosing the colours of your flies.
