ITS COMPACT DIMENSIONS MAKE IT IDEAL FOR TYING SMALL FLY PATTERNS
The bobbin holder TINY MIDGE CERAMIC from Hotfly is much more compact in its dimensions than other bobbin holders. Especially if you often want to tie midges and other smaller fly patterns, this spool holder is the right choice. With an overall length of just 8 centimetres, it can be guided extremely precisely, as the line guide is only just in front of your fingers. This way you place the windings of your fly-tying thread exactly where you want them.
The thread spools are clamped between two cone-shaped holding points. These sit on flexible wire legs that accommodate all standard width bobbins of thread. You can easily adjust the pull-off resistance of the thread by bending the two wire legs slightly together (tighter) or apart (looser). This way you can adjust the bobbin holder to the fly-tying yarn you are using and your tying habits.
The thread tube has well-proportioned ceramic lining at both ends. This material has an enormous hardness and can therefore withstand even the most modern and ultra-fine fly-tying threads. These high-performance threads put a lot of strain on the material, especially when they are tied under tension. Even the smallest unevenness or sharp edges can roughen or cut the binding thread. This makes the bobbin holder unusable. These ceramic linings, instead, remain wonderfully smooth even after long use and do not damage your fly-tying thread.
