The bobbin holder DISK HEAD GOLD CERAMIC from Hotfly is equipped with a generously dimensioned disk-shaped handle. This offers your thumb and index finger a large contact surface, which makes this bobbin holder very good and comfortable to hold. Due to the high mass and the centred arrangement of this grip piece, the bobbin can also be easily spun around its own axis when you want to twist the fly-tying thread.
The classically designed bobbin holder has two legs, at the lower ends of which are the cone-shaped holding points for the yarn bobbins. Like the handle, these cones are gold coloured. Thanks to the flexible legs, this bobbin holder can accommodate all standard-width bobbins of fly-tying thread. You can easily adjust the pulling resistance of the thread by bending the two wire legs slightly together (tighter) or apart (looser). This way you can adjust the bobbin holder to the yarn you are using and your tying habits.
The thread tube has well-proportioned ceramic lining at both ends. This material has an enormous hardness and can therefore withstand even the most modern and ultra-fine tying threads. These high-performance threads put a lot of strain on the material, especially when they are tied under tension. Even the smallest unevenness or sharp edges can roughen or cut the tying thread. This makes the bobbin holder unusable. These ceramic linings, instead, remain wonderfully smooth even after long use and do not damage your fly-tying thread.
