However, the new COTTARELLI BOBBIN HOLDER is not only attractive, but also very handy and practical when tying your flies. It can accommodate all standard reel sizes and, thanks to a smart tensioning system, it is able to change the pressure exerted on the thread spool at will. In this way, you can adjust the pull-off resistance of the tying thread to your individual preferences and needs.

The adjustment is very simple: by moving the brass cylinder towards the spool, you apply more pressure and thus more pull-off resistance. If you move the brass ring in the opposite direction, you release the pressure, and the tying thread can be pulled off more easily.

The thread guide is made of ceramic, a very hard and extremely smooth material that allows you to tie thousands of flies without any problems, even with very fine tying threads, without even the slightest wear on the material. This way, the tying thread remains perfectly protected even after long use of the spool holder. Furthermore, a ceramic guide is almost a prerequisite when using very thin tying threads.

A special feature of the COTTARELLI BOBBIN HOLDER is the unique arrangement of the thread guide. The tying thread is not threaded into a tube, but into a slot on the side, which is located directly behind the ceramic ring. This way you can thread the thread very quickly and changing a bobbin is child's play. And you don't need your own threader either.

Like all Cottarelli products, the COTTARELLI BOBBIN HOLDER is made in Italy and, besides the ceramic guide, is made of steel, brass and aluminium. This makes it a high quality and very durable product.
