BAMBOO TENKARA SPOOL

AESTHETIC AND FUNCTION IN HARMONY

The Bamboo Tenkara Spool by River Peak is more than just a practical accessory – it is a statement of traditional craftsmanship and Japanese aesthetics. Made from genuine bamboo, it offers not only a natural feel but also a pleasantly minimalist design that perfectly reflects the philosophy of tenkara fishing. Each spool is adorned with a delicate engraving – sometimes playful, sometimes symbolic – giving every model its own unique character. Thanks to its fine workmanship and the natural grain of the bamboo, each spool is one of a kind.

THE SMART SOLUTION FOR TENKARA LINES

Since tenkara deliberately dispenses with a traditional reel, you need a reliable way to transport and store your line. That’s exactly where this clever spool comes in. It allows you to neatly wind up and securely fasten your entire setup – perfect for quick deployment by the water and just as practical for stowing away after fishing. It saves time, eliminates fumbling, and protects your fly.

SIMPLE, PRACTICAL – AND THOUGHT THROUGH TO THE LAST DETAIL

Using it is as simple as it gets – just the way you want it for tenkara: easy, efficient, and with a clear sense of order. Hook your fly into the small metal eyelet (A) located in the oval side hole of the spool, then guide the tippet through the slot (B) to the notch at the spool’s edge. Then simply wind your line, tippet, and fly evenly onto the spool.

An elastic spool band ensures that everything stays securely in place – whether in your vest, backpack, or during rod transport. The central bore of the spool is wide enough to fit directly onto the blank of your tenkara rod – an elegant solution on the go.

A TOUCH OF JAPAN – AT YOUR SIDE BY THE WATER

With the Bamboo Tenkara Spool, you're not just adding a functional accessory to your kit – you're carrying a piece of Japanese angling tradition. Each version features classic motifs such as frogs, trout, tenkara rods, or wild animals, combining fishing artistry with visual elegance. Since the engraving is laser-etched into the natural bamboo, variations in color and texture are possible – making each spool a truly unique companion.
