XLV STILLMANIAC FLY REELS
GREAT PERFORMANCE & PRACTICAL CASSETTE SYSTEM
The XLV STILLMANIAC fly reels inherit the design of the slim reels with the very large diameters and the powerful and reliable disc drag system from the XLV reel family.
The big difference to all other XLV reel models, however, is the cassette system, which allows you to change the fly lines quickly and thus react very flexibly to any situation. Thanks to the quick-change system, all it takes is half a turn of the locking ring and you can remove a cassette and insert the right one. This is why the XLV STILLMANIAC is particularly suitable for all fishing techniques where different lines are used. It was primarily developed for fly fishing in Stillwater, but these fly reels in size #6/7 are also suitable for streamer fishing in the river and in #7/8 are also excellent for light fly fishing for pike and zander. In addition, a cassette reel is also a cost-effective way to use the same fly reel for different fishing techniques.
HIGH-QUALITY EQUIPMENT
The cassettes made of sturdy and transparent plastic have a large inner diameter, which minimises the annoying memory effect of the fly lines. Moreover, this large arbour design allows you to retrieve more line per turn of the crank. This way you can spool up loose line very quickly and fight the hooked fish directly via the reel and using the reel drag. The cassettes also have a non-perforated area on the side where you can mark the line ID with a text marker so that you always have an overview, even with several cassettes.
Apart from the cassette, the rest of the fly reel is made of aluminium, which is CNC-milled from a solid block. Due to the type of build, the reel frame of these fly reels is open. The flat V-emblem on the back of the reel gives the fly reel a high level of stability. The disc drag system works very reliably over the entire adjustment range and starts up silky smooth. The braking force can be adjusted very well thanks to the large, non-slip drag knob and is sufficient for the dream fish when set to maximum.
These fly reels are not only convincing in terms of functionality, but are also optically appealing. The EVA reel knob, the reel seat and the locking ring kept in orange form a nice contrast to the titanium-coloured rest of this reel.
The XLV STILLMANIAC is supplied in a practical neoprene reel bag with a total of 3 cassettes. If this is not enough, you will find suitable replacement cassettes in a favourable 2-pack.
