The product developers at Guideline have applied the sustainable concept of a fly reel that is made from 100% recycled raw materials and completely dispenses with single use plastic parts to a cassette reel. The NOVA CASSETTE thus also consistently implements the brand philosophy "Clean all the way", with which Guideline aims to significantly reduce the company's impact on the environment. The basis for this was the most extensive and detailed design study that the Norwegian company has ever undertaken for the development of a new product. At the end of this elaborate process, which combined innovative industrial design with environmentally friendly, recycled raw materials, is the NOVA series of fly reels with the standard models and this practical cassette model. They are the most environmentally conscious fly reels Guideline has ever brought to market.

QUICK CHANGE OF CASSETTES

Resource-saving production is just one of the many advantages that characterise this cassette reel. The "minimal-touch" press release system allows you to change the cassette spools very quickly and easily, so you can always fish with the most appropriate fly line in changing conditions. For competitive anglers in particular, this means more time for the fly to be in the water and catching fish.

Each NOVA CASSETTE fly reel is supplied with one pre-assembled and two additional polymer cassette spools made from recycled PCR (Post Consumer Resins). All parts come in a practical reel bag that protects the fly reel and spare spools well and ensures that you always have your spare fly lines to hand. While the frame of this fly reel is available in two colours, black and stardust, the cassette spools are always black.

NOVA CASSETTE #6/8 AND NOVA STANDARD #7/9 CAN BE COMBINED WITH EACH OTHER

The NOVA CASSETTE is available in one size #6/8 and, with a line capacity of a WF #7 fly line + 100 metres of 20 lbs backing, is ideally designed for fly fishing in Stillwater. The frame and spool size of this cassette fly reel is identical to the NOVA standard fly reel in size #7/9. As the plastic cassette has a somewhat smaller internal volume due to the thicker walls, the cassette model has a slightly reduced line capacity. Nevertheless, the frames and spools of the NOVA CASSETTE #6/8 and the NOVA Standard #7/9 are interchangeable. This gives you even more flexibility because if you own both models, you can combine the spools and frames of both reels as you wish.

GREAT DESIGN AND HIGH-QUALITY BRAKING SYSTEM

The modern and geometric design language of the NOVA fly reel series has also been retained for this cassette version. However, this is not just for aesthetic reasons, as the grid-like spoke design ensures high structural stability. The counterweight of the reel knob integrated into the spool also contributes to the clean design of this fly reel and another component has been saved in the manufacturing process.

The optimised reel drag system of the fly reel is based on carbon discs with a rear-mounted drag plate and innovative wave springs for absolutely jerk-free, silky-smooth start-up, precisely adjustable and even brake pressure and extremely high braking stability.
