Poppers are new stimulating artificial flies, especially developed for perch, black bass and pike, but also suitable for trout, chub and asp. The name of these baits comes from the "pop" noise they generate when they slap on the surface of the water. The body of the popper is formed by buck tail, polystyrene or ultra foam.
The poppers imitate fleeing fish. Thanks to the presence of rubber legs in many models, water splashes are generated that further attract the attention of predatory fish.
These baits are quite light and can easily be casteven with normal fly rods.
