FLY LINE ROLLCAST PRO
WITH THIS FLY LINE EVERYONE CAN CATCH FISH IN STILLWATER WITH THE FLY
When fly fishing in Stillwater, the froller or frollcast is indispensable. With this casting technique you can easily reach long casting distances. And you can do it without much space behind you.
Unfortunately, beginners often hesitate to approach this facet of fly fishing because they are convinced that long casts are automatically complicated. Especially when you have to teach yourself the necessary casting technique.
We can assure you that this is certainly not the case with the Froller. Anyone can learn this fly-casting technique. Even without much casting knowledge. If you have ever held a fly rod in your hand, with a little skill you will be able to cast your fly a good 20 metres within an afternoon.
To help you get started, we have put together a blog post on fly fishing in Stillwater. It also explains the technique and procedure of the frollcast in detail.
TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE ROLLCAST PRO FLY LINE
With the fly line ROLLCAST PRO Hotfly has developed a very specific product, which is perfectly suited for the froller cast.
The belly of this fly line is comparatively long (19.8m/65ft), so that the fly rod is already loaded with minimal effort. This way you can easily reach considerable distances in the cast without overstraining your arm.
ATTENTION: Due to the particularly aggressive taper of this fly line, we recommend that you only fish the ROLLCAST PRO with rods that are specifically designed for fly fishing in Stillwater. These robust rods have sufficient power reserves, especially in the butt section. Due to the special belly, the ROLLCAST PRO is somewhat heavier. In order not to overload the rods, we therefore recommend using this line only for the froller cast and not for the classic overhead cast.
You can buy the fly line ROLLCAST PRO in two line classes: #7/8 and #8/9. 3 different sink rates are available for both classes: floating, intermediate (1.5 ips) and sinking (3 ips). This way you have the right fly line for every situation.
All models are colour-coded at the transition from belly to running line. This way you can see immediately when the line belly is completely in front of the tip guide, and you can let the line shoot.
