SWISS-CDC STANDARD CDC FEATHERS

PREMIUM CDC FEATHERS FOR DRY FLIES AND EMERGERS

The SWISS-CDC STANDARD CDC FEATHERS stand out for their fine, soft fibres and excellent buoyancy. These duck cul-de-canard feathers are a versatile fly tying material for dry flies and emergers. Their delicate fibre structure traps air between the individual barbs, helping the fly stay afloat. At the same time, the soft fibres create a natural, lifelike silhouette on the water's surface.

The feathers are sourced exclusively from ducks and collected during the winter months. They are then carefully cleaned, disinfected and gently dyed to preserve their natural fibre structure and the characteristic properties of CDC as much as possible.

VERSATILE APPLICATIONS – FROM TINY DRY FLIES TO LARGE MAYFLIES

The SWISS-CDC STANDARD CDC FEATHERS are suitable for a wide range of fly patterns and tying techniques. You can use them to create wings and wing posts on dry flies, emergers and CDC sedge patterns. Individual feather fibres can also be used for delicate tails or incorporated into a dubbing loop to form soft, bushy thoraxes.

Thanks to the variety of feather lengths, you can tie everything from tiny dry flies on size 24 hooks to larger patterns such as mayflies. Finer feathers and small bunches of fibres are particularly suitable for delicate imitations, while longer feathers provide enough material for larger wings and more substantial fly patterns.

APPROX. 120–140 FEATHERS IN ASSORTED SIZES

Each pack contains 1 g of CDC feathers, equivalent to approximately 120–140 individual feathers. The feathers are not sorted by size and range from approximately 1 to 4.5 cm in length. This gives you a versatile selection for different fly patterns and tying techniques.
