Now that's what you call understatement. The guys from Vision are launching a rod series on the market that offers incredible value for money and calling it TOKA, which means "second" in Finnish. These fly rods certainly don't need to hide from anyone, because with their great characteristics and clever features, which are optimised for different fishing techniques, these fly rods can easily compete with much more expensive models.

The super-light and non-sanded blank is made of 24T graphite with a reduced resin content and an additional scrim insert. This gives these fly rods a great balance, an aggressive taper and the medium-fast action of these rods leads to excellent casting characteristics. All TOKA fly rods are equipped with modern single leg rod guides, a slim cork rod handle with protective edges and an anodised aluminium reel seat. With the exception of the TOKA NYMPH, all fly rods in this series are 4-piece.

THE INDIVIDUAL MODELS

TOKA 8' #4 & 9'6'' #3: the two models in the light line classes are ideal for fine dry fly fishing as well as classic nymph fishing. The slightly longer lever of the 9'6'' #3 allows you to keep more line out of the water and also makes it easier to mend the line, which is particularly useful when you want your nymphs to drift as naturally as possible. These fly rods are equipped with a half wells handle and an uplock reel seat.

TOKA 9' #5 & 9' #6: the two fly rods in the classic length of 9' and the medium line classes are true all-rounders that are just as ideal for dry fly fishing as they are for classic nymph fishing and fly fishing with streamers. Both rods are fitted with a half wells handle and an uplock reel seat. 

TOKA 9'3'' #7: this model is optimised for streamer fishing. Thanks to the slightly higher line class and the slightly longer rod, you can also present larger and windier patterns at greater distances without major problems. This rod model features a full wells handle with fighting butt and an uplock reel seat to match the application.

TOKA STILL 9'9'' #6 & 9'9'' #7: the two Stillwater models have been specially designed for the increasingly popular fly fishing in lakes, ponds and reservoirs. While the lighter #6 rod is ideal for fishing with floating lines and intermediates, the #7 rod is a real all-rounder for all stillwater applications. Both rods are equipped with a full wells handle and fighting butt as well as an uplock reel seat.

TOKA NYMPH 10'6'' #3: this model is specially designed for Euronymphing. Thanks to the downlock reel seat, the reel sits as far back as possible so that this rod is perfectly balanced, even though it is longer and thus have a longer lever. Despite its length, it is also extremely light at just 81 grams, so it won't put any strain on your rod arm even during longer fishing sessions. As only very thin lines, either monofilament or 0.55 mm Euronymph fly lines, are used for Euronymphing, the dimensions of the single leg rod guides have also been adapted and are smaller and thinner on this rod than on the other models in this series. The half wells rod handle is kept slightly longer compared to the rest of the fly rods within this series. The rear end of the rod is finished off with a small fighting butt, which allows you to rest the rod very comfortably on your forearm in the typical Euronymph position. The spiral surface texture of the unsanded blank prevents the monofilament fishing line from sticking on the wet rod blank, which would have a very negative effect when casting and prevents direct contact with the nymphs. The TOKA NYMPH is the only 5-piece model of this rod series which, despite its greater length, fits into the same rod tubes as standard 9' fly rods, making it much easier to transport rods when travelling.
