The EURO FLY CLICK fly reel complements the renowned Euro Fly family, which was developed by Hotfly Superb.
The special feature that all fly reels in the Euro Fly series have in common is certainly their versatility. This is because these fly reels allow you to use it with two spools with different capacities on the same frame, so that you can quickly switch from one technique to another on the water without having to take the reel off the rod.
Like all fly reels in this series, the EURO FLY CLICK is a first-class build, designed for professional use, but still offered at a very attractive price that is affordable for everyone.
TWO DIFFERENT SPOOLS, ONE FRAME
The closed frame of the EURO FLY CLICK fly reel is ideal for modern nymph fishing. You can easily fish it with ultra-light 0.55 mm fly lines or monofilament lines without the risk of these lines getting caught between the frame and reel when retrieving and getting hopelessly tangled on the reel axle. The closed frame also ensures greater stability and makes the reel more robust compared to a classic reel with an open frame.
As already mentioned, two different spools can be mounted on the closed frame of the EURO FLY CLICK, one for modern nymph fishing and one for classic fly fishing.
EURONYMPH SPOOL #0/1: The Euronymph spool has an inner diameter of 60 mm (ULA - Ultra Large Arbor) and offers sufficient capacity for a 0.55 mm fly line + 50 m 20 lbs backing.
CLASSIC SPOOL #2/5: The spool for classic fly fishing has an inner diameter of 50 mm (SLA - Super Large Arbor), so there is sufficient capacity for a WF 5 fly line and 100 m of 20 lbs backing.
Changing the spool is extremely easy as nothing needs to be unscrewed. All you need to do is press the button on the axle cover and remove the spool from the frame. To fit the new spool, simply insert it into the frame and fix it to the axle with light pressure until you hear a click.
We offer the EURO FLY CLICK with all spool variants, so you can decide for yourself whether you want to buy the fly reel with the Euronymph spool, the classic spool or with both spools at the same time. Of course, you can also buy both spool variants separately at a later date to retrofit and complete the EURO FLY CLICK with a different spool in case you need it.
CLICKER DRAG
The EURO FLY CLICK fly reel does not have a fully-fledged reel drag, but is equipped with an adjustable resistance to prevent uncontrolled overrunning of the spool when the line is pulled off. The mechanism is very simple and consists of a toothing on the spool into which a double plastic pin engages, thereby slowing down the rotation.
The drag resistance can be adjusted to personal preference by turning the adjustment wheel on the back of the reel. The adjustment range is surprisingly wide compared to other reels that are also equipped with clicker drags. However, even at the highest setting, the braking force is not sufficient to fight a fish. Here you use your hand to apply slight pressure to the edge of the reel to resist the fish pulling off, or you press the fly line against the rod handle with the index finger of your rod hand.
As with all fly reels of this design, both line retrieval and spooling are accompanied by the characteristic clicker sound, which is a real treat for many traditional fly fishermen.
By eliminating the actual reel drag, a lot of weight has been saved, as the EURO FLY CLICK weighs only 90 g, which is almost 50 g less than the other models in the Euro Fly series, which are equipped with a classic reel drag.
DEVELOPED BY PROFESSIONAL FLY FISHERMEN IN ITALY
The reels in the Euro Fly family were developed in Italy by professional fly fishermen. The main focus was on creating a unique product with clear added value that will fully satisfy even the most demanding angler.
The manufacturing quality of the EURO FLY CLICK fly reel, like that of all the other models in this series, is truly first class. These reels are milled from a solid block of aluminium using CNC machines and have a flawless finish thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing. The bronze-coloured anodising provides additional protection for the surface and at the same time gives this reel a timeless elegance.
