HOTFLY EVO PERDIGON BUZZER QUILL 0.75 MM

SHIMMERING FLY BODIES WITH FASCINATING COLOUR EFFECTS

The HOTFLY EVO PERDIGON BUZZER QUILL 0.75 MM makes it easy to create shimmering, finely segmented bodies for Perdigon nymphs, buzzers and similar nymph patterns. These specially coated foil strips produce intense light reflections and iridescent colour effects, giving your flies a lively, shimmering appearance that changes with the angle of the light.

EASY TO WRAP AND SEAL WITH UV RESIN

Using the strips is straightforward: tie one in at the rear of the hook shank and wrap it forward in slightly overlapping turns. This creates a smooth, evenly segmented fly body. Thanks to their 0.75 mm width, the strips are also ideal for building slightly fuller bodies quickly and neatly.

Once finished, you can seal the body with a thin coat of UV resin. This protects the wraps and improves durability, while the smooth, glossy finish further enhances the iridescent reflections. This tying technique is particularly well suited to Perdigon nymphs.

DISCO SILVER AND HAMMERED RAINBOW WITH DRAMATIC COLOUR SHIFTS

One particularly fascinating feature of these quill strips is the colour options disco silver and hammered rainbow. Their special surface coating creates striking colour shifts depending on the angle of the light. Different viewing angles reveal completely different shades and shimmering reflections.

The following images show each colour option under different lighting angles, illustrating this remarkable effect.

Disco silver: Both images show the same colour option, revealing distinctly different shades and reflections depending on the angle of the light.

Hammered rainbow: Here too, the colours change dramatically as the light hits the surface from a different angle.

The strips measure 0.75 mm in width. The silvergrey version is approximately 95 mm long, while the disco silver and hammered rainbow versions are approximately 80 mm long. Each pack contains around 50 quill strips.
