FISH LOVE TO FEED ON WINGED ANTS

On warm summer evenings, whole swarms of winged ants can become a real nuisance. However, this mass occurrence is a real blessing for our fish. Ants are comparatively clumsy flyers. Therefore, many of them land in the water when thy fly around in search for a mate.

If the ants appear in swarms, and fish focus on these flies, there is probably no better fly pattern than the ones you find here. They might seem simple tied but are extremely effective. The foam body makes them swim perfectly and reliably even after many takes. The contrasting colours of the body and wings or the integrated visual aid mean that you always have the ant imitation in view.
