With the SD fly reel, Loomis & Franklin presents a truly interesting product. The reel is available in three different sizes #3/5, #5/7, #7/9, and therefore offers the right reel size for all classic fly-fishing techniques using a fly line. In this way, you can choose exactly the right model that best meets your individual expectations and needs as well as your preferred fishing technique.

Thanks to the carbon discs, the fly reel drag runs very smoothly and precisely, allowing you to tame even large and powerful fish confidently and efficiently during the fight. When setting the drag force, you can easily use the numbers on the adjustment knob as a guide. The drag system of the SD fly reels is fully encapsulated and therefore optimally protected against sand and dirt. As a result, the reel drag works very reliably over time and you can rely on it in any situation.

The large arbour spool ensures a high line retrieve per crank rotation. At the same time, the large inner diameter of the spool very effectively reduces the annoying memory effect of the line when it is stored on the reel for longer. As can be seen very clearly in the pictures, the reel has a V-shaped spool base in cross-section. On the one hand, this increases the line capacity of this fly reel and, on the other hand, enables much more precise spooling.

The SD fly reel from Loomis & Franklin is made of anodised 6061-T6 aluminium and is CNC-milled from a solid block. The structure of the frame is rigid and very robust, while the anodising protects it very well against corrosion. The well-thought-out choice of materials and the design make this fly reel extremely light and pleasant to handle.

Of course, it can be quickly and easily converted from right-handed to left-handed operation.
