The fly rods in the NYMPHMANIAC series are perfectly tailored to Euronymphing, with no frills and no compromises. No wonder, because some of the best competition anglers, including illustrious names such as world champion David Ferreras (SPA), Jarkko Suominen (FIN), Jan Kubala (CZK) and Erlend Vivelid Nilssen (NOR), have put all their experience into the development of this rod series and tested it extensively. The result is a series of fly rods that has caused quite a stir in the scene, because these fly rods, customised for modern nymph fishing, not only meet the expectations of demanding fly fishermen with their professional performance, but are also available at a reasonable price.
FIRST-CLASS EURONYMPH RODS
Nothing has been left to chance with the extremely light and sensitive NYMPHMANIAC fly rods. The polished, unpainted blank made of high modulus 40T carbon fibre saves unnecessary weight and transmits even the slightest tug of the extremely sensitive tip to the butt section without loss. Thanks to the low centrifugal mass, the rod blank stops immediately after the cast and does not swing around, so that the line remains taut and you can immediately make direct contact with your nymphs. You can fish these rods with fine tippets without any problems, as the super-sensitive tip reliably protects against unintentional line breakage. Nevertheless, these Euronymph rods offer you sufficient tension to instantly quit even the finest takes with a strike and get it through to the fish before it has even spat the nymph out again. The medium-fast blank bends progressively into the butt section as the load increases so that it absorbs sudden escapes and jumps very well and has sufficient power reserves to also fight large fish quickly, safely and confidently.
PERFECTLY TUNED FITTINGS
The choice of rod guides is also very purpose-orientated, as the small and lightweight guides keep the overall weight of the rod low. On the longer rod models within the series, the distance between the rod guides has been reduced to prevent the line from sagging. The snake ring behind the tip ring is also a well-thought-out design choice. Especially with the weightless monofilament lines, it can happen that they wrap around the rod tip. With the snake ring the line can easily slide forwards without getting caught. This effectively prevents tangling and annoying fiddling around on the water. And even the green markings on the handle and the blank are not just decorative windings, but length measurements in 10 cm increments from 20 cm to 50 cm. This allows you to measure your catches quickly and easily and release them immediately.
All models in the NYMPHMANIAC series are 4-piece, the shorter models have a cork half wells rod handle and an uplock reel seat, the longer models from 10'6'' also have a small fighting butt made of EVA, which allows you to rest the rod comfortably on your forearm on these models with a larger lever. A downlock reel seat has also been fitted to these models, making it easier for you to balance these longer rods perfectly.
