The STORMY V2 aluminium landing net from Hotfly has a very light aluminium frame, which is nevertheless robust and durable thanks to the profiling. The rather fine-meshed, soft net is rubberised and knotless and thus gentle on the sensitive skin of the fish, as the epidermal mucus is not damaged. This makes the STORMY V2 particularly suitable for catch & release.
A rubberised net also ensures much less frustration for you, because your flies, especially if they are barbed, do not get tangled in this rubber net, as can be the case with textile netting, for example. Another advantage rubberized nets have over fabric ones is that they do not absorb water, so they dry quickly and can be stored in the car without dripping and above all without releasing unpleasant odours.
The opening of the STORMY V2 is trapezoidal and protrudes towards the front, making it easier for you to land the fish. At its widest point, the landing net opening measures 28 cm with a maximum opening length of 39 cm. The net is 30 cm deep, making the landing net ideal for fishing for grayling and trout. With a total weight of just 320 grams, you will hardly feel the landing net, even on long days on the water. Due to its light weight, it is even buoyant, so it won't sink like a stone if the landing net accidentally slips out of your hand before you have fixed it.
The STORMY V2 aluminium landing net can be attached to your vest, pack or waders with a carabiner which hangs at the end of a 30 cm long elastic cord. The handle is ergonomically shaped, fits comfortably in the hand, has a secure grip and measures 23 cm.
