Vest hotfly EXPERT V3 with integrated backpack

You don't want to leave anything to chance on the water and have all your necessary accessories nicely organised and always within reach? Then the EXPERT V3 from Hotfly is just the thing for you, because the extremely practical combination of fly vest and variable backpack comes damn close to jack of all trades.

Made from a durable and water-repellent nylon fabric, the EXPERT V3 is finished in a discreet and unobtrusive grey. All straps, buckles, D-rings, and cords are very robust and well dimensioned, the high-quality zips come from YKK and are equipped with non-slip zip extensions that make it very easy to operate them quickly and easily, even with gloves or clammy fingers.

The shoulder straps and back area are pleasantly padded, making them comfortable to wear even when the vest and backpack are appropriately loaded. The insides are made in an air-permeable mesh fabric, so you stay dry even on warmer days.

The EXPERT V3 can be adapted to all body sizes thanks to the individual adjustment options at the shoulders and hips, so that the backpack vest always fits well, does not slip, chafe, or otherwise interfere, regardless of whether you wear it over a shirt or a thick down jacket. The front of the fly vest closes with both a zip and an elastically attached clip.

FRONT SIDE

The front of the fly vest is packed with pockets and clever features, all of which have been thought out and optimised down to the smallest detail. For example, the two large pockets, into which several fly boxes fit, are mounted vertically. This makes it much less likely that the fly boxes will fall out unintentionally. The eyelets on the bottom of the pockets allow water and moisture to drain away quickly. Both pockets have an additional inner compartment made of mesh fabric. The two pockets on top have a hard front shell that can be folded forwards by 90° to form a horizontal plane so that nothing falls out of the pocket. Two silicone fly patches are attached to the inside with a Velcro fastener. This way you have your favourite flies right at hand without having to fumble around with fly boxes. You can easily change the fly patches with the Velcro fastener so that you always have the right flies at hand for every situation.

The versatile storage and packing options on the outside are completed by two additional vertical flat pockets in the lower area and two additional flat pockets in the chest area. The latter have a practical clip on the inside, for example for car keys. There are also two open mesh pockets on the sides.

Thanks to the numerous fastening options, your accessories are securely attached and always within reach. The two centrally attached retractors with clips are very suitable for line clippers or the like.

On the left above the large front pockets, you can fix a clamp or a hook plier in a clever combination of large and small fabric tape securely and always within reach. On both sides of the front pockets there are also a total of 4 elastic loops, which are very suitable for carrying floatants and similarly shaped objects. The 2 elastic loops underneath the retractor clips are also very useful if you need to attach something heavy to the retractor clips. In this case the elastic loops are there to support the heavy accessory without stretching excessively the retractors.

Moreover, you'll also find fabric straps, and D-rings in different sizes, so you can easily and practically attach leader spools, amadou and much more to the EXPERT V3.

In addition, the EXPERT V 3 fly vest/backpack combination is equipped with a practical rod holder in the form of a fabric loop on the lower edge and a Velcro strap in the chest area. This way you can quickly and easily hang up your rod and have both hands free on the water, for example when tying on a new tippet or changing flies.

INSIDE

Inside, the fly vest has a total of 4 flat pockets made of mesh fabric. There are two zipped pockets at the bottom and two large pockets with Velcro fastenings at the chest.

BACK SIDE

The great strength of the EXPERT V3 is the compact backpack, which capacity can be expanded when required. To do this, simply open the three-sided zip to roughly double the internal volume of the backpack to 15 litres.

The main compartment of the backpack can be filled very easily via a large opening and is equipped with a large, flat inner pocket. On top you find another pocket with two flat inner mesh pockets and an outer mesh pocket. Adjustable compression straps with clips are attached on both sides so that the centre of gravity is always as close to the body as possible with any amount of filling, which significantly increases carrying comfort. There are three robust D-rings on the top of the rucksack, and two elasticated fabric loops underneath for attaching the rod tube.
