Foam bodies
Tie realistic flies quickly and easily with these pre-made foam bodies
ANT FOAM BODIES by hotfly are preformed ant bodies made of foam, with which you can imitate the segmented body of ants very easily. All that's missing for the perfect ant pattern are just the legs and a pair of wings. The foam body gives your fly a high buoyancy, so that it can be fished dry very well.
The CHERNOBYL FOAM ANT BODIES from hotfly are two-coloured, pre-cut foam bodies for the quick and easy production of the Chernobyl Ant and other extremely buoyant land insect replicas. The CHERNOBYL FOAM ANT BODIES are available in many colour combinations and each in sizes 20 and 25 mm.
FOAM HOPPER BODIES from hotfly are preformed grasshopper bodies made of foam. Due to the lifelike reproduction of the body shape, grasshoppers can be imitated very easily by gluing the foam body to the hook shank and integrating three pairs of legs. In addition, the FOAM HOPPER BODIES have a strong buoyancy and are therefore extremely reliable floaters that sits on the surface even in turbulent waters.
The SOFT FOAM CYLINDERS from hotfly are made of soft foam that absorbs absolutely no water. You can shape the foam cylinders into the desired shape with scissors or sandpaper. Due to their excellent buoyancy, SOFT FOAM CYLINDERS are ideal for tying high-floating terrestrials and the extended bodies of dry flies. But these foam cylinders are also very suitable for the eyes of booby flies. You can find the 40 mm long SOFT FOAM CYLINDERS in our shop in many different colours and a total of 5 different diameters from 4 to 10 mm. Each package contains 5 pieces.
The foam is a very floating synthetic material and is very effective when fishing in fast waters because in addition to keeping the artificial fly afloat, with its bright colors you will never lose sight of it.
These already shaped elements are very useful because they will save you a lot of time during fly tying. With them you can make imitations of terrestrial or extended bodies. The best time to fish with this kind of artificial flies is certainly the summer, where insects such as caterpillars, grasshoppers etc... often fall into the water, becoming a prey for our salmonid friends.
