The ROCKET FLOATER is a fly line from the British company Wychwood and belongs to a series of several fly lines called ENERGY DISTANCE. The entire model line is available in our online fly-fishing shop and is characterised by a very pronounced front taper and a short back taper.

The ENERGY DISTANCE ROCKET FLOATER fly line has a WF profile (weight forward), i.e. it has a larger diameter in the front area, the belly, and therefore also more weight. Compared to a standard WF, the line weight of this fly line is very concentrated in the belly, which makes it a real bullet.

Thanks to these characteristics, with the ROCKET FLOATER fly line from Wychwood you are able to load your fly rod very quickly and make long and precise casts even in strong winds.

The running line, i.e. the rear part of the fly line, is kept very thin and glides very smoothly through the rings of the fly rod thanks to the use of state-of-the-art materials. This allows you to cast the fly line very far. The running line is colour-coded, and this helps you to recognise when the thicker and heavier belly is completely in front of the rod tip during the cast. In this phase of the cast, you can now let the fly line shoot, because the heavier belly, which is already in the air, pulls the lighter and thinner running line effortlessly, which leads to greater casting distances.
