The STANDARD SHUTTLE is a handcrafted vise produced in Italy by Franco Cottarelli. The materials used are mainly steel and aluminum, making this product extremely robust and lightweight. The numerous joints allow to make infinite adjustments, in order to be able to tie always in the most comfortable way. The table vice allows you to have an extreme stability during construction, this has made it possible to create many accessories (purchased separately) that will significantly facilitate fly tying without compromising stability.
The clamp has been cut from a steel plate by electroerosion, a process that does not heat the metal and therefore does not ruin the hardening of the steel. One of the qualities for which the Shuttle plier is highly appreciated by fly tiers is that you can reposition and replace the hook very quickly. Just open the clamp with a little pressure, insert the hook and release. Screwing or unscrewing the bolt located on the brass register in the centre of the pliers will give a more or less tenacious grip on the hook. When you tie artificial flies on particularly large hooks, it is good to increase the clamping force, while if you tie on medium-small hooks you can decrease it.
All pliers can rotate freely 360 degrees, this rotation is adjustable by the clutch. On the sides there are 2 brass bushings that allow you to move the bobbin from the work area in those moments when we do not need to take it back then at a later time and continue with the fly tying.
To facilitate the rotation of the pliers, the crank handle can be purchased separately.
