Christian Kuchelmeister from Swisscdc impressively demonstrates with the MULTICLAMP MINUS that even sophisticated fly-tying tools can be further developed and improved. Two years after the presentation of the Multiclamp, the "little sister", an optimised material clamp for fine and filigree fly-tying work, is now coming onto the market.
The "minus" in the product name refers solely to the more compact size compared to the original Multiclamp, because in terms of added features, this material clamp should actually have a big "plus" in its name.
The MULTICLAMP MINUS is also made of stainless steel in a matt, glare-free finish. The clamping range still has a large, open window through which the materials picked up can be easily and simply distributed, aligned, or bundled with thumb and forefinger without the need for additional tools. The ergonomically shaped material clamp makes these tasks easy and comfortable. The MULTICLAMP MINUS is available as a right-handed as well as a left-handed version for more efficient handling.
The proven grid pattern lasered onto the jaws has been refined to 2.5 mm, so that you can now pick up an even more constant amount of fly-tying material with this material clamp. In addition, the same grid has also been applied to the side bars, so that you are now also able to also measure the length of fur and fibres. This way you can always pick up the exact same length of material, align it accordingly and tie it into the dubbing loop.
The MULTICLAMP MINUS also has only minimal radii at the edges of the clamping jaws, so that you can prepare, distribute or mix and portion dubbing material very finely at the tying table and pick it up directly with this material clamp. Especially with small and filigree fly patterns, you can produce well-proportioned, fine dubbing strands in this way.
The material clamp MULTICLAMP MINUS may appear reduced in width, but its clamping force is impressive, making it probably one of the strongest compact material clamps on the market. The narrower, reduced-width clamping bars of this material clamp now makes it easier to securely grip even the shortest hairs directly from the saddle/cape or fur.
Small, precise and powerful is a very accurate description of the MULTICLAMP MINUS, although the term "distinctive" should be added to the adjectives. Because this material clamp is not only unparalleled due to its abundance of great details but is also provided with a consecutive production number. This means that every MULTICLAMP MINUS is unique.
